Cumberland Art Group

Fifteen artists from the Cumberland Art Group will display their work during the first two weekends in June as the "featured artists" at the Artists Studio & Gallery at Patriot Place. More than 55 of their pieces will be on display, plus the 80 or so pieces on exhibit regularly by our seven "anchor artists". All the works are available for purchase. Support these local artists and drop by and view their exceptional art. Some of them will be there in person to say hello and answer any questions you might have. The Gallery is open every Friday 5-9 pm, Saturday 1-9 pm and Sunday noon-6 pm. It is located at the north end of the Patriot Place mall, just behind the cinema, and near many of the wonderful restaurants at Patriot Place.

Watertown Painting

Frank Quinn, one of the artists at the gallery, was inspired to paint a scene (pictured above) commemorating the spontaneous celebration of Watertown residents April 19 -- the night police captured Suspect No. 2 in the Marathon Bombing. The painting is on display at the gallery through the Memorial Day weekend and will then be moved to the Watertown Administration Building. It is 40 inches wide and 19 inches high. Frank plans to auction the painting to benefit the One Fund. The gold & black frame was generously donated by Custom Art Framing in Norwood. Anyone wishing to bid can contact Frank at 508 668-7031 or e-mail him at fxquinn@yahoo.com.

Paint Out at Patriot Place June 15

The Artist's Studio & Gallery at Patriot Place will host a "paint out" Saturday afternoon 1-5 pm at Patriot Place. The rain date will be the following Saturday. All artists and art students are invited to participate, set up their easels or tables outside, and turn Patriot Place into a mini-Paris. Even if you don't want to paint, you can come and look over the shoulders of other artists as they create "masterpieces" on the spot. It promises to be a fun event.
