Painting Festival

On Saturday, May 21 there will be the 2d Annual Street Painting Festival at Patriot Place produced by Foxboro High School.  5 feet by 5 feet pavement and chalk will be provided to artists of all ages and $2,000 prize money will be awarded, courtesy of Foxboro Dental Associates. The age groups will be kids K-4, 5-8, 9-12, adults (over 19), and Family (student & adult). The theme is "What Makes Me Smile". Spectators will help our judges by voting on their favorite ("People's Choice").
There will also be other painting by members of the Foxboro Art Association during the afternoon, so enjoy all of the art -- in and outside the gallery.
The rain date will be the next day, Sunday May 22.

Ribbon Winners

The Foxboro Art Association hired professional artist and judge Susan Kelley to award ribbons in each of the 4 media categories displayed in their Small Works Show at the Artists Studio & Gallery at Patriot Place. You can find out the ribbon winners by checking with the Foxboro Art Association's blog at foxboroart.blogspot.com. The Small Works Show will be held on three consecutive weekends, ending April 24. There will be a reception 3-5 pm April 24 and the public is invited.

Foxboro Art Associaton Show

During the middle 3 weekends in April, the Gallery will feature  "small works" by members of the Foxboro Art Association. The show will be judged and ribbons awarded after the first weekend. Over 60 works will be exhibited and most are priced affordably. So whether you're in the market for a priceless piece of art, c'mon by and view the work of these local artists. You will be glad you did.

Closed Easter Sunday

The Art Gallery at Patriot Place will be closed Easter Sunday, but will be open as usual on Friday evening 5-9 pm, and Saturday 1-9 pm. The Guest Artist will once again feature the art of Dino -- John  DiNapoli. If you haven't seen his work yet, you're in for a treat!

Norton High School Mar. 11-13

The Gallery will feature the art of Norton High School the weekend of March 11-13. Their reception will be Saturday afternoon, March 12, the same day that Patriot Place will hold its 7th annual Irish Festival. It should be a good time to enjoy all the festivities, weather permitting.

Oliver Ames High School

The last weekend in February the gallery will feature the outstanding art work of the gifted students at Oliver Ames High School in Easton. Come by and see for yourself. Their work is truly magical, about 35 pieces. They will host a reception Sunday afternoon from 2 to 4 pm.

Miksis & Chalmers

The weekend of Feb. 19-21 will feature the art of Stephanie Miksis, from Franklin, and the Dianne and Jim Chalmers from Foxboro. Miksis, who is a renowned realist painter, is now experimenting with abstract painting and will exhibit some of her latest work at the gallery. See her photo below.
The Chalmers are photographers and will display some of their work this same weekend. Come on by and visit them along with the other art being displayed by seven other artists. It promises to be a relatively warm weekend -- for February.

Xaverian Brothers High School

The January 8-10 weekend will feature the first of eleven local high schools, Xaverian Brothers. They are not only the reigning High School Super Bowl Champs, but also gifted artists as well - as the attached photo from last year shows. Come and show what the high school students can do -- along with the seven regular artists that exhibit regularly -- while the Patriots have a "bye".
