Walpole High Amidst the Blizzard

Walpole High is exhibiting their artwork the weekend of Feb. 8-10 despite the snow storm. If you can't make it to the gallery, here are some photos. (If you click on them, you can make them bigger.) Because of the blizzard, we opened Thursday night instead of Friday. And we thought we could open Saturday, but as of 6 pm Saturday, Patriot Place was still closed. But Sunday we hope to be open as usual, noon to 6 pm. The art work is terrific, so if you can visit us, please do. It will all come down on Monday to make way for Mansfield High School for next weekend.

High School at the Gallery

The Artist's Studio & Gallery at Patriot Place is pleased to display the artwork of our local high schools according to the following schedule:
In Deceember we exhibited Xaverian Brothers H.S. And in January we hosted Franklin, Medfield, and Norwood High Schools. Feb. 1-3 has North Attleboro, Feb. 8-10 will have Walpole High, and Feb. 15-17 is Mansfield High School. Norton High will be March 1-3, and Foxboro High is March 8-10. Canton High will be April 5-7 and Bishop Feehan will display their art April 12-14.  Eleven high schools in all! Since the goal of the Gallery at Patriot Place is to support local artists, are delighted that so many of our local high schools have agreed to participate. Please visit our gallery on one of these weekends and show your support for these talented young artists.

Franklin High School Jan. 11-13

This weekend (Jan. 11-13) the Gallery will feature the art work of Franklin High School as our Guest Artists, along with the art of our seven Anchor Artists. The High School will have their artists reception Friday evening from 6-8 pm, but the Gallery will, as always, be open to all 5-9 pm Friday. If you can't come Friday, then you can always visit Saturday between 1 and 9 pm. And of course, there is always Sunday. But don't forget the Patriots will be trouncing the Houston Texans starting at 4:30 on Sunday. But please drop by and see for yourself the talent of our local high school sudents.

December Guest Artists

For the rest of December -- and the rest of 2012 -- the Gallery will feature the works of guest artists Brenda Doucette and Katherine Honey, along with the works of the seven "anchor artists", all local artists who take turns staffing the gallery every weekend. All the artists have inexpensive prints and cards which might make the perfect gift for a friend or relative this holiday season. So if you're sick of the crowded malls, come take a look at our gallery for a unique selection of thoughtful gift ideas. As always, we are open Friday evenings 5-9, Saturdays 1-9, and Sundays 12-6.

Xaverian Bros. High School

The weekend of Dec 7-9 features the art of students from Xaverian Brothers High School. Their work will be displayed along with those of 7 local artists. Pictured above is one of their displays at the Gallery last year. Not bad, eh? So feel free to visit the gallery this weekend and enjoy this year's art created by these outstanding young students.

Guest Artists Nov. 30-Dec2

Pictured above with her wonderful photographs is Foxboro's Christine Ravesi-Weinstein, one of three Guest Artists featured the weekend of Nov. 30-Dec. 2. The other guest artists are North Attleboro's Katherine Honey  and Brenda Doucette. The works of these three artists, plus those of seven other local artists, are now on display for your viewing pleasure. If you are in the holiday mood,  come on down and visit with these engaging artists.
