All new art supplies are welcome, but especially child-friendly items like washable markers, paper, watercolors, etc.

Moving in!

Last night four of the permanent artists were able to get in to the gallery and start the process of hanging artwork.

The gallery is divided by artist so a wide array of work is to be featured.

Can't wait to get in and see what it looks like when everything is on the walls!
Hope you can join us there!

More photos of the interior

Here are more shots of the gallery interior. That spot in the back right of this photo is for a featured artist. Isn't it great?

We're all brainstorming about layout and such in this photo.

The lighting in the gallery is wonderful, too. We'll be able to spotlight paintings beautifully. A dream location.
Three out of five of us looking up something pertinent on our smart phones.

And right now it's bare - but it'll be filling up this week. What fun to see "before and after" photographs of the space.

Anchor Artist :: Ann Gorbett

Ann Gorbett paints exclusively with a palette knife to create her oil paintings because she loves the thick, painterly strokes of color she can create with it. Her work ranges in subject matter from city scenes to florals to figurative paintings based on nostalgic family photographs.

Ann is a Walpole resident, a member of the Foxboro Art Association, a signature member of the Neponset Valley Artists. She holds a fine art degree from Miami University of Ohio and has worked as a professional graphic designer in Boston for many years.

She began painting in oil again after taking a palette knife workshop and was immediately hooked. In addition to the Art Gallery at Patriot Place, her work is currently represented by The Red Inn in Provincetown and Custom Art Framing in Norwood.

Ann loves to do commission work so if you have a favorite pet, family photo, or special place you'd like her to paint, send her an email.
You can view portfolios of her work as well keep up to date with her most recent paintings by checking her blog at anngorbett.blogspot.com.
